Clean Ups

Do you have a massive pile of leaves in your yard smothering your grass? How about flowerbeds or plants that are out of control? Or maybe you have an empty lot with debris on it and need it cleaned up. With our clean up service we can handle any of your headaches your property might be giving you. Trash and debris removal, tall grass knock downs, overgrown flowerbeds cleaned up, leaves bagged and hauled off, underbrush cleared out, rock or mulch removal and fence lines cleared are just a few of the clean up services we offer.

A few of our clients wanted to know how we get so much done so quickly so we wanted to share some tips on clean ups to make the job a little easier.

  1. Plan it out

Planning is by far the best way to do just about anything, and a property clean up is no exception. Fortunately, yard work is pretty strait forward and most tactics are season based. When planning your clean up just take into consideration what you will need to do the job, where you can dispose of waste, where you should start and when or how long you think it will take to complete.

  2. Where to start

When starting your clean up take three main things into consideration for a starting point. Shade, Distance and Workload. For example I personally like to start the furthest away and work my way towards the truck, dump trailer or equipment so that it is an easier workload on my body later. Shade is also huge when working in the hot summer. Try to look at the properties shade lines and move with it. If you know part of the property or yard will be shaded in the afternoon start somewhere else and come back to it. Always try to get the hard work done first while your body is cool and rested. Getting the tough stuff knocked out first makes for a easier workload.

  3. Use the right equipment

This is always true no matter the job. Using the right tools can make a difficult task a walk in the park. The first few pieces of equipment I think of when it comes to clean ups is a dump trailer, backpack blower, tarp, 5 gallon bucket and a wheel barrel with two front wheels. Dump trailers make the haul off and dispose of waste as easy as pressing a button. Rent or own for sure use a dump trailer. Backpack blowers like the Stihl 800 make raking leafs a thing of the past. You can also use blowers for cleaning out beds, gutters and moving thatch or long clippings into piles. Tarps are extremely useful when trimming. For example a well placed tarp while shaving a palm tree makes for less work later. We also use tarps to haul and drag large piles of leaves to our dump trailer. Who bags leaves anymore? Having a bucket is useful for carrying tools, holding trash, carrying more than one item or my favorite, a place to sit while taking a break if you believe in those! Last but not least get yourself a nice garden cart or dual front tire wheel barrel for moving the heavy stuff. These are all useful tools we use on almost every clean up job. Just remember to “work smarter, not harder”.
